Downtown Baton Rouge Engagement Session

I love utilizing downtown Baton Rouge for Engagement sessions. There are so many little nooks and crannies that I feel get passed by all too quickly! This particular session was such a pleasure for me. This darling duo is a friend of mine's son, Kyle and his bride to be, Emma. First of all, let's just take a moment and adore the name "Emma". I just love it! You never hear it these days and she fit it perfectly- unique, beautiful, and strong.

Kyle and Emma are smitten for one another and it's SO REFRESHING. Ever see those couples at tables just eating food and not talking? Ever see two people in the same place but so far from one another? Maybe, say, divided by their cellphones or a blaring tv? Well, these two would definitely not be that couple. They were so darling in love it was inspiring to see.

Emma also helps clean his teeth which is actually really true love.

Another little tidbit about these two is they love terribly to goof off. Like basically taking serious pictures was painful for them two so we had to do our best at just capturing their spontaneity and fun-loving personalities.

We still got the best of both worlds.

Kyle proposed on the steps of the Capitol around 8-something at night so needless to say he did not get any great images of it. We took some time to recreate some of their precious and memorable moments by walking over there and capturing the two of them being them .

Their kind of love is the stuff wedding photographers love!!! They made the whole session one big blast and nothing like a photoshoot.

Did anyone else know that they redid the front of the Capitol? If not, it's just gorgeous! I love all the new, multi-colored tiles. Emma is from good ole Loooziana and Kyle is a California guy so it was only right that we captured them on their home state step!

Bless them so! Poor Kyle's grey shirt was black by the end of our summer eve shoot! They were both champs though and we made some pretty moments that they can hold onto forever!!

And they lived Happily Ever After...

Baton Rouge Engagement Photography Session

Where it all started.

Friends of friends. A blind date. Mutual interest. Sparks. Shared smiles. And something began.

baton rouge engagement session

A bit of like turning into a lot of like and possibly some love...

And then it came... the good the bad... the all of it... everything that comes when something like this begins to unfold and you wonder if you should run and hide or stay and find out.

Then it all comes out. And your greatest fears seem small when you are next to them and that is when you know something is gravely different about this one...something that you must have and hold.

And then it all gets better than the day before or anything you have really thought or imagined and you wonder how life could possibly be anything without them. You wonder how anything can be anything worth anything if it means being without the one you have fallen in love with.

So you stop trying to do it on your own and you find a way to do things different and new and perfectly perfect compared to before them and all seems right in the world with this other human by your side.

A sort of perfect that should never end and so you marry them and then you found out what all those people mean when they say happily ever after...

And you now have your own.

Love is perfectly perfect.

It takes all of us, every-single-little-morsel, to truly be a part of love.

Everyone has got their deal and these people's deal is being awesome!

Meg and Rob. Awesome and awesome-r. No particular order there. Just awesomeness all around. Have never met anyone like them and never intend to eitherThis darling, dapper duo knew how to do a photoshoot!.

Meg's only request was she preferred NO buildings in any of her images. This is quite a task for living in the city. Baton Rouge at that! But we ended up with more amazing images than I anticipated.

GORGEOUS just does not cut it.

What I loved so much about this couple was that they were absolutely adorable together. So comfy, so natural. Supportive. Charming. Smitten.

They were truly just like one and that is a rarity these days. The ebb and flow was there. The long looks. The sparks. It was so apparent that they were crazy about each other. Just being together was complimenting the one to the other.

And having fun was there as well! Those two have no lack of laughing between them. I can see why  they are like magnets! So much chemistry, so much laughing, so much goodness.

Who does not Kung Fu fight on your regular Sunday morning?

Holy Schnikes! One of my best friends is saying I DO in Marchy March!!! And I CAN"T WAIT!!!! One because I absolutely LOVE her and him together, two because Marriage is the greatest gift to humans ever- aside from salvation, and THREE because they totally let me bring them on a tad bit of an adventure to get some really great and unique shots :) Thank you Kenny for your compliance and for Lauren's compliance to you :)

So I was the blessed soul that was lucky enough to get to do their Engagement Session since I will be standing by their sides for their BIG DAY so that made my heart very happy!!!

What I absolutely love the very most about their relationship is that Mr. Kenneth Knight is completely head over toes for his Bride-to-Be and that makes my heart very happy being that she's a dear friend of mine and I only want the absolute very best for her.

When I saw how he opened every single door for her and then she shared how he won't even let her click her own seatbelt, I knew he was the one for her :)

A true sign of love is for it to be seen and not just said.

Here's to their happily ever after!!!

Baton Rouge Engagement Session (Wedding to Come)!

These guys right here... I love them...

It's so wonderful to document stories that are close to me. This is a little Engagement session with some favorites... That tall man to the far left is Dwayne or D or the "Milk Man". He works at Borden so he's legitimate. His sweet Bride-to-be is beside him, her name is Trista and she is as bright as the sun, always running into the club- smile ear to ear and laughing about one thing or another. Those are her two little ones to the right of her- Colin and Teagan- most adorable and genuinely adore one another.

They met at the Fitclub that I manage, Koko. I met D first. He had this friendly, fatherly essence and has been a huge blessing to get to know over the past three years. Trista came along about a year later. We were all supposed to go on the Red Dress Run in NOLA but they were the only two that ended up making it down there race day.

That was a year ago last July. This November D and T will be tying the knot! It is going to be a very, very special coming together and I get to photograph it all. I couldn't be more happy for them!!

Most importantly these two little ones get a dad again after losing theirs some 7 years ago.

And that's what I call a very Happy Ending...
