Baton Rouge Family Photography Session

I like a woman who knows what she wants. Possibly, because I was not that woman for so long but oh, how the times do change. Meet Anatasia. She wanted sun flare. Lots and lots of sun flare. Upon leaving the shoot she even asked, "can you add the sun light to all the images". Uhm, not how that works but I will see what I can do :)

So we got that sun flare. Lots and lots of it.

Joshua and her were just darling and all about going with the flow of the session. I brought a favorite cloth from India for the ground and I let Joshua dose off for a nappy poo while we got some images of this Russian beauty.

The two could not make a bad image if they tried. Just gorgeous. Plain, flat out gorgeous.

Baton Rouge Engagement Photography Session

Everyone has got their deal and these people's deal is being awesome!

Meg and Rob. Awesome and awesome-r. No particular order there. Just awesomeness all around. Have never met anyone like them and never intend to eitherThis darling, dapper duo knew how to do a photoshoot!.

Meg's only request was she preferred NO buildings in any of her images. This is quite a task for living in the city. Baton Rouge at that! But we ended up with more amazing images than I anticipated.

GORGEOUS just does not cut it.

What I loved so much about this couple was that they were absolutely adorable together. So comfy, so natural. Supportive. Charming. Smitten.

They were truly just like one and that is a rarity these days. The ebb and flow was there. The long looks. The sparks. It was so apparent that they were crazy about each other. Just being together was complimenting the one to the other.

And having fun was there as well! Those two have no lack of laughing between them. I can see why  they are like magnets! So much chemistry, so much laughing, so much goodness.

Who does not Kung Fu fight on your regular Sunday morning?

Baton Rouge Family Photography Session

Never, ever have a met a family like the Morgans. Ever.

I can't sing their praises loud enough. I met Mallory, aka Cletus the hot mom in this picture, back when I was in Full Time Elevate at Healing Place. She was such a riot!!! I couldn't believe God made people as fun as that girl!! She kept me laughing the whole time we would be around each other!!!

Well her and that man up there, Dave, made a sweet little family since and have been blessed with the privilege of raising three girls!! And everyone said, "God bless them!!"

The oldest and sweetest little thing is Miss Elle whom is seated right there below.

Next is Jules. Sweet Jules. I will call her "spitfire" cause she has a little flicker in her little self. Reminds me a lot of me with all her curiosity and energy :)

And finally is baby Charley whom just made her grand entrance into the world. She is what you call, a jewel, sweet as pie :)

We had ample space for our shoot at their house and property wayyyyyy out in a little place called, St. Amant :)

I particularly love this one although the light is a tad harsh solely cause when I said, "let's shoot in front of the wood stack", I could feel Mal and Dave thinking, "what in the world is she thinking"... Well, this was it!!! Isn't it beautiful!?

We then headed back into the house to capture some natural, family moments.

This was the point in which we told the girls if they participated they would get GUM! This was a huge win for them but not good for the photographer with newly smiling faces and smacking lips :)

And we got some with just Charley because she's the best and sweetest and softest little one around.

And for the win..... FAMILY TIME IN THE BEDS!!!

Another Family Session for a win!

The end.

Anniversary Session slash Engagement Session

This post makes me more than happy to post. It's a birthday post. Aside from baby Lila's hospital shoot, it's the first one of the blog :) and it happens to be to one of my very special, favorite people.

Upon John Robert and I's visit to the Motherland, our darling friends were about to make their 2 year anniversary and she asked if I would be willing to do a little mini-shoot of her and her man. It might seem like an Engagement Session but don't be fool, these two are far into the marriage bliss! I  think I was more elated than they were about it :)

It was such a pleasure having fun laughing with them and making silly faces. The venue was this darling restaurant slash landscaping store. It was perfect for our many breakfasts there and of course this little shoot.

If you know this little darling in any way at all then you will know her affinity for pictures of her feetsy. So in honor of her foot passion... I had to ask for a moment posing...

We tried on hats, too.

Everyone did.

After cuddling with their favorite bearded man, I found some stumps that we did circus tricks on.

And feet pics :)

And then they made special, special rap gang faces.

And gave piggybacks. Leaher dropped Pat so I won't disclose her failures.

And more of their special affection towards one another.

Leaher's insanely random brain complements Patrick's rather peaceful and quirky wit combining for a super wonderful and perfect couple to me. But I am biased. I adore these two to pieces and I love even more than we are beyond friends, we are family.

John Robert and I's time there with them was more than anything I could have planned. It was the perfect amount of anything and everything.

Happy Birthday, sweet girl!!! I know this year will be blessed and filled!! Can't wait for November when you come back to the US of A.

Till then enjoy many cups of your coffees, lots of 24 episodes and have the time of your life living your dream in your favorite place in the entire world.

Baton Rouge Engagement Session in Birmingham, AL

One of my Best said Yes!!

Has anyone ever had to keep a secret for a really, really long time? I am usually lock and key for a good couple of days to weeks; but give me months to keep my mouth shut and there may or may not be an accidental slip of information here, a grin there, but not with this little love story...

A dear friend of mine, Krystle, has been dating her sweet beau for quite some time and when Sid- we will call him Spartan Sid because he has quite an affinity for Spartan races- calls me up in March to tell me he is trying to think through "the big ask" I was elated to the point of wanting to shout it from the rooftops but secret keeper I became.

First we thought it would be at the finish of a race they are doing in November but then I thought through getting loved ones there to celebrate with them and how no one really wants to race like these two do so we started to have to think of Plan B - which brings us to this past weekend.

The agenda was a Missions Trip to Birmingham, Alabama with the team of people we all work with at New Beginnings Ministry at Healing Place Church. I was not able to take off a whole week, so John Robert and I drove up on the tail end of the trip under the alibi of not wanting to miss the big projects they had been building up to for the week :)

It was all planned out... Perfect evening dinner in a park. Sid was going to be asked to say the blessing for the food and BAMMM, down on one knee and out comes the proposal. Perfecto, right!?!?

YES, of course it was!!!

We even had our previous pastor there to help finish out the time with a prayer of blessing for the two lovebirds :)) Pure bliss and the surprise was kept FOR MONTHS.... Hallelujah!!

So we ran off from the crowd and did a sweet little Engagement Session just to kick off their season of LOVE.
