Tips for Baton Rouge Wedding Photography Planning

Wanted to share a couple of simple thoughts when it comes to your wedding day <3

First, make sure you find the perfect wedding dress. 

Also, only choose the best-est of your girlfriends to stand by your side. That's a fact! 

When it comes to bridesmaids dresses go classic with everyone in the same color and same style ORRRR my favorite, let everyone choose their favorite cut in a certain color. Lastly, you can just choose a color palate that you love and tell your bridesmaids to go wild and choose their favorite dress within that palate. 

(Sarah went with a very classic look and kept all the girls in all the same here) 

Groomsmen your number one goal for the day is to get the groom ready and sober-ish to his Big Day. You have one job gentlemen! 

Next thought- everyone always is staring at the bride as she enters but take a second to glance to the groom who may or may not be losing his composure over his beautiful descending bride. The faces of some of these men as they see their soon to be wife is beyond priceless.

Brides and grooms out there planning your wedding-- don't skimp on the First Dance song! 

Also, when looking for a wedding band make sure you have the best in the city because we all know that the band makes the party. The end. Don't pass go, don't collect 200-- get a AWESOME BAND! 

And last but not least--- don't drop the bride when you dip her for y'all's sparkler send off!!

Baton Rouge Lifestyle Engagement Photography

Happy Engagement session you two lovebirds!!! It's quiet refreshing to see love so clearly on two special people! It's one of those things you hope to achieve in your own relationship and it challenges you to find the good in your significant other. These two just had the mojo! 

Their engagement session was Burden Gardens off of Essen Lane in Baton Rouge. Cambri chose the location because her and Neal adore the outdoors and they wanted a very Louisiana-ish place for their special memories. I always recommend this spot as it lends to great backdrops and beautiful scenery! 

When photographing a couple in a very lifestyle oriented manner you always want them to be as comfy and cozy as possible. I tell them to dress cozy, I tell them to have a drink and I tell them to come ready to flirt. That combo seems to do the trick and within a half hour I am like working with "models".... serious... time helps loosen those jitters that come with being camera shy! 

I love when clients tell me they trust me and to do whatever with them. I always have some random thing in my head that I am hoping to achieve and thank goodness they always comply :) Yay for couple's that trust your vision!!! I love this green house magic we got because they were willing. 

We did of course dance in the road because that's what lovers do, mmmmk?! Cambri and Neal were super warmed up by this point and we just had a ball getting some beautiful stuff with them! 

When documenting your love stories, be sure that you choose beautiful backdrops, find a photographer who's vision you completely trust and who has a personality that you adore and I promise the rest with be beautiful photography history!

Baton Rouge Wedding Lifestyle Photography

Hey Everybody! 

Welcome back to the blog! I have been scurrying around making all the things happen after the crazy fall season! We had so much fun in 2017 and I am assured this year will be nothing less! We documented 48 couple's wedding days and had countless families documented as well. It was a great year and looking forward to seeing what 2018 holds-- aside from this baby that's almost due in SIX SHORT WEEKS! 

So in the mean time I wanted to share with you some of Peter + Carla's session! They were absolutely divine to work with and we were able to get some beautiful engagement photos for them in their most requested way-- natural and candid. I love when the couple's request such photos. Lifestyle and candid are two of the things I love to document. It lends to seeing the couple as they are naturally and as they engage together. It's the magic! 

Carla chose Rosedown Plantation in St Francisville for her engagements because they wanted to do something with a very pretty backdrop that displays Louisiana at it's best. There are several spots that jump out at me when I hear Louisiana backdrop but Rosedown is very high on that list! 

I love this venue for so many reasons but namely because they do not host "events" on the property which I think lends to it's charm and pristine nature. The grounds look and feel untouched and if you are a photographer of outdoors, those are definitely the spots you hope to shoot at. Peter and Andrea were just gold in their element here as well. Veery comfortable and very much cozy in front of the camera. 

It was a beautiful winter day and we had plenty of sunshine to grace our lifestyle session which is MY FAV!! Can I have all the sunset lovers say a good amen!?

Baton Rouge Lifestyle Engagement Session at Rosedown

Hey Everybody!!! 

I hope the Christmas rush is not getting the best of everyone!! I for one am done with the shopping and my "work" after this evening's wedding and will be kicking back till next Tuesday when it's back to some sessions :) 

I HAD to blog this session though!! I was slightly obsessed with the amazing couple and their sweet disposition and absolute love for one another! It made for a very easy, fun and relaxed session!!! Here's some pretty little sneaks! 

When photographing a lifestyle session one thing comes to mind for me... it's is there "mojo" with you and your significant other or your family? That's what makes for those beautiful and yet ever so lovely images capturing what you would naturally be doing on a normal day. Morgan and Josh simply had "that". 

We might have hopped a 10 foot fence... we might have.... just maybe... but looking at these images and seeing the love on these two has made every single second worth it. There are truly some things in life that are priceless and these two have it!
