Family photography is supposed to be FUN not boring or laborsome. And that is what I strive to accomplish every single family session. Here are some peeks from my latest. And when I say latest I mean 4 months later. That's solely because I just had a baby, people!!! Need some slack! 

Anyways, here's some from my sweet family in home session with baby Alexander! Newborns are the best when we stay in bed and snuggle with the little.

Baton Rouge Wedding Engagement Photography

Hiyaaaa!!! 

Been a minute! Just wanted to stop in and say hello!!! 

I am 3.5 weeks out from having our second kiddo, Harrison Wesley, at the end of February. I have been a busy little bee trying to tie up all the loose ends of wedding photography world. It's been such a blessing invest my creative energy into so many amazing people's stories + coming to the end of a season means starting a new one. I will gladly be updating people in my little world about all the changes for sure! 

In the meantime I wanted to share some images from last week's engagement session! Caitlyn and Ben were just perfect little subjects and had all that romantic mojo that makes beautiful images. 

Caitlyn wanted a certain Southern charm for her engagements. I knew immediately of the handful of places that I thought would be great. Rosedown Plantation was certainly one of them. It's nestled into the west side of St Francisville and has all the Louisiana charm one could take in. The oaks, the old white home with a lovely labyrinth off to the side. Gardens of every kind trace the grounds and what is most special about this spot is how beautifully intact everything is kept. The venue doesn't have large events there in order to keep the historic site in tact so the gardens are pristine and grounds so well cared for. It's definitely a spot worth driving to on a lazy Saturday afternoon. 

One thing I always love is when couple's or families as to bring their pup along for the session. The answer is yes, always always yes!! 

Caitlyn loved their images and I do as well! So many lovely ones that help share in their love story! Including Gertrude.

Tips for Baton Rouge Wedding Photography Planning

Wanted to share a couple of simple thoughts when it comes to your wedding day <3

First, make sure you find the perfect wedding dress. 

Also, only choose the best-est of your girlfriends to stand by your side. That's a fact! 

When it comes to bridesmaids dresses go classic with everyone in the same color and same style ORRRR my favorite, let everyone choose their favorite cut in a certain color. Lastly, you can just choose a color palate that you love and tell your bridesmaids to go wild and choose their favorite dress within that palate. 

(Sarah went with a very classic look and kept all the girls in all the same here) 

Groomsmen your number one goal for the day is to get the groom ready and sober-ish to his Big Day. You have one job gentlemen! 

Next thought- everyone always is staring at the bride as she enters but take a second to glance to the groom who may or may not be losing his composure over his beautiful descending bride. The faces of some of these men as they see their soon to be wife is beyond priceless.

Brides and grooms out there planning your wedding-- don't skimp on the First Dance song! 

Also, when looking for a wedding band make sure you have the best in the city because we all know that the band makes the party. The end. Don't pass go, don't collect 200-- get a AWESOME BAND! 

And last but not least--- don't drop the bride when you dip her for y'all's sparkler send off!!
